Game Environment from Music
Vaněk, Jiří ; Fapšo, Michal (referee) ; Hradiš, Michal (advisor)
The topic of this work is game environment generation from music. The main subject of this work is the music analysis. I am dealing with the problem of finding relevant information in music, which would be useful for game generating. The design of the system for music analysis, presented in this work, is based on the theory of signal processing and statistical classification. The proposed analysis of music is focused mainly on a beat detection, musical genre recognition and song segmentation. The second part of the work deals with the design of a game, which generates its environment from the data obtained in the music analysis. I have implemented the complete system for the music analysis and a prototype of the game, in which it is possible to evaluate the results from the analysis. The implementation and the achieved results are described in the conclusion of this work.

The perception of Classical music by her performers.
Kůdelová, Anna ; Kučera, Miloš (advisor) ; Nedělka, Michal (referee)
This thesis explores experiences of professional, classical musicians who perform music on daily basis. The main observation is whether listening to music creates a synesthesia within this very specific group. Synesthesia is a condition in which one perception (a trigger or inducer) involutarily triggers another (concurrent) experience. To fully contain this idea, multiple individuals, un-experienced with classical music were adressed as well. The main purpose of this thesis is an identification and separation of abstract notions of musicians and an actual musically-induced synesthesia. Methodology, data collection, exploratory specimen and a way how the research was conducted are decribed in the practical part of the thesis. Collected data were then analyzed in respective categories. Theoretical part researches the different musical experiences, the synesthetic phenomena and its effect in musical environment, and an analysis of the musical sample used as a foundation for the practical part. KEYWORDS Synesthesia, music experience, performers of classical music, musician vs. non-musician
